The fruit, loaded either manually or with an automatic loader**, is brought and mechanically threaded onto the detorsolator tube. Here the fruit rotates and is peeled at an adjustable speed.
After peeling and de-seeding, the fruit passes through an optional cutting system, which allows it to be cut into segments or cubes.
The constant evolution of PND systems has made the PL8/6/4/2 a versatile machine for different and specific qualities such as the Bramley apple (irregularly shaped) or the Asian 'nashi' pear.
